About the project

Disabled
Research

Critical Disability Studies (CDS) is an approach that centers the understanding of disability as a political, cultural, and historical experience. In CDS, disability is understood as intersecting and interwoven with other systems of power and oppression in the US and transnationally. It is an interdisciplinary field dedicated to understanding disability and its relationship to race, gender, sexuality, indigeneity, and other forms of difference.

One of the library guides produced by MNT interns in collaboration with UMN libraries focused on Critical Disability Studies. This library guide aims to be a resource which facilitates accessing texts about CDS across UMN databases. The guide also includes a list of tips for those new to using library guides.
