George Floyd Global Memorial (GFGM) collaborated with MN Transform interns in 2021 to collect oral histories with community members, volunteers, and conservators at George Floyd Square (GFS). GFGM interns worked at the GFS archive to record and catalog materials as well as develop an exhibit that was showcased at the Square.
In 2022 GFGM developed the Archiving Sacred Spaces Fellowship to add new thought to the integration of library science and caring for the offerings at George Floyd Square as a sacred space. Alongside the GFGM archival fellow, interns helped to develop local and traveling exhibits to tell the stories of the 2020 Uprising and make them accessible to educational institutions, youth, and families as part of the collective racial justice and healing process.
