Minneapolis Panorama is a visual record of the Lake Street and West Broadway corridors in the immediate aftermath of the murder of George Floyd. The panoramas establish a visual baseline tracking the future transformation of the Lake Street and West Broadway corridors. The images record changes such as protest art; new development; the construction of public project; and the introduction of security infrastructures among other changes. The continuing reconstruction of Lake Street and West Broadway will bring capital, people and place-making new ideas to the corridors. How will their transformation impact the needs of those who are the most disenfranchised residents? Minneapolis panorama aims to explore this question by providing a visual diagnostic of physical change over time and using the panoramas as tools for public engagement.

The support of MN Transform provided funding for a research assistant who worked to develop new iterations of the panoramas during the years 2021 and 2022. Through its publicly engaged events, MN Transform also provided public venues to exhibit the work and enable feedback regarding future iterations.
